Leicester, United Kingdom - 27/10/2026 - Wilson Alarms acquires Patrol Alarm Systems Limited, bringing a 55-year Birmingham security specialist into the group. Tyseley office and engineering team retained as Wilson establishes its first permanent base in the Birmingham area.
Wilson Alarm Systems Limited (โWilsonโ) today announced that it has completed the acquisition of Patrol Alarm System Limited (โPatrolโ), the Tyseley-based electronic security company that has served homes and businesses across Birmingham since 1970.
The acquisition brings together two long-established, independently owned security businesses with a shared focus on service quality and long-term customer relationships. Patrol will continue to operate from its existing Tyseley office under the Patrol name, with its engineering and office team joining the Wilson group.
Founded in 1970 by Stan Stevens, Patrol installs, maintains, monitors and repairs intruder alarm and CCTV systems as well as access control systems and smoke cloaks, for a loyal base of domestic and commercial customers in Birmingham and the surrounding area. The company looks after more than 730 security systems, the majority of them professionally monitored around the clock.
Philip Stevens, its current director, joined the business in 1976 and devoted his working career to the company. Diane Stevens, its other director, joined the business at a later date and also dedicated a significant part of her working life to the betterment of the business.
Both decided to retire after many years at the helm. They will support the handover to ensure continuity for customers and staff.
For Patrol's customers, nothing changes on day one. Contracts, pricing and the engineers who know their systems remain in place, while customers gain access to the wider resources of the Wilson group, including a larger engineering team and extended service-desk cover.
For Wilson, the acquisition marks its first permanent physical presence in the Birmingham metropolitan area, an area that sits naturally alongside its existing operations and where it intends to grow further.
Charles Jing, Director of Wilson Alarm Systems Limited, said:
โPatrol is exactly the kind of business we look for: more than half a century of history, a team that genuinely cares about its customers, and a reputation built on turning up and doing the job properly. Diane and Philip have built something to be proud of, and we are committed to looking after it. We're keeping the Tyseley office, keeping the team, and keeping the name. This is the start of a long-term commitment to Birmingham.โ
Diane and Philip Stevens, founders and directors of Patrol Alarm Systems, said:
โAfter many years running Patrol, we wanted to make sure the business, our customers and our staff were in safe hands before we stepped back. Wilson shares our values and our way of working, and we are confident the company will continue to thrive as part of the group. We'd like to thank our customers for their loyalty over the years, and our team for everything they have put into the business.โ
